Parents of the Groom
Peter and Loretta met during a European tour in December 1986 when travelling by hovercraft from Dover to Calais. The attendant sat them together thinking that they would not fight. The attendant was right, they were full of giggles and smiles and this journey ignited a spark between them. Once they started talking there was no stopping them, they got along so well and this was the start of their lives together. in 1989 there were no unlimited texting, wifi and phone access so they had to rely in written letter and postcards. Their courtship involved traveling backwards and forwards between Victoria, Melbourne where Loretta lived and Adelaide where Peter lived for several years. They traveled 12 hours on bus and train to see each other every 3 months for weeks at a time as well as any long weekends. After traveling back and forth Peter finally proposed November of 1987. They married on January 7th 1989 at St Mary’s Cathedral, Sale near the farm where Loretta grew up. They made their first home together in a small country town in South Australia where Peter taught at the local High School and Loretta taught at the local Catholic Primary school. Two years later they bought their forever home in the leafy southern suburbs of Adelaide, just in time for their first child Andrew to be born. Two years later their family grew when their second son, Stephen was born.

In 1986, Francisco moved to California in hopes of a better life but he returned to Mexico one year later. This time when they saw one another again instead of annoyance, they got butterflies. Francisco's attempt at wooing her was to pick her up from college and walk her home, a 5 miles trip for him.
