Maid of Honor
Shruti has been Sooriya's best friend since she was born. Sooriya considers Shruti to be her older sister, a role which Shruti has dutifully taken on for the last 28 years. As children, the two played dress-up together in their mothers' old clothes, practiced made-up dance routines in the basement, and even had their own language. The fun only continued as they got older, as Shruti counseled Sooriya through her teen and adult years. She taught her how to feel confident in her own skin, but was always ready to humble Sooriya if the situation called for it!
Maid of Honor
Sooriya has been grooming Saparja for her role as maid of honor ever since they met in 2nd grade. Saparja is best known for being the cool, calm, collected friend, who gives the best advice. Throughout their formative years they were inseparable, taking the bus home together during the school year and spending whole summers together at camp. It was rare you would hear one person's name without the other - Sooriya and Saparja has a nice ring to it!
Bridesmaid
In 2019, Sooriya was looking for an apartment in Boston and Angela had a vacancy - the rest is history! Angela is Sooriya’s resident hype-woman and partner in crime. Whenever anything happens, no matter how mundane, Sooriya's first text is to Angela. Angela's talents include having the biggest heart, taking beautiful pictures of Geno, and taking out the trash (among other roommate duties).
Bridesmaid
Tori came into Sooriya's life in 2016. The two met in Florence Italy, while Sooriya was visiting Blake on his study abroad program. Their friendship blossomed from a bud in Florence to the most beautiful garden at UConn and beyond. One thing Sooriya admires is Tori's bond with Blake. Tori is something of a "Blake-Whisperer." If Sooriya couldn't get Blake to do something, she could always count on Tori to convince him!
Bridesmaid
Kayleigh and Sooriya have been friends since middle school, and against all odds have remained close since then. Kayleigh and Sooriya's friendship is one-of-a-kind, marked by scathing sarcasm and unapologetic humor. The two could write a book of inside jokes together but decided against it because no one would get them.
Groomsman
Blake and Han have been friends since middle school where they quickly formed a bond that hasn't even been broken by the vast country in between Boston and Han's new home in San Francisco. He even captured Blake and Sooriya's engagement photo.
Groomsman
Blake and Carroll have known each other since they were small children, playing Cheshire Youth Baseball where Carroll went by the nickname of "Hollywood" and his dominance coming out of the bullpen has often been compared to a young Mariano Rivera.
Groomsman
Blake and Nick grew up in the same neighborhood and have brains so similar they tend to speak in a sort of code between each other, consisting of references to early-2010s NBA players and Michael Mann movie lines.
Groomsman
Ben and Blake met at UConn where Ben was a couple years ahead of him. Blake and Carroll spent many, many days and nights at Ben's off-campus houses, as well as many games of pick-up basketball, including one legendary game at the UConn Rec Center against some football players.
Groomsman
The groomsman with the longest wingspan, Blake has known Jarred since UConn, too. Blake and Jarred have lived together in both Boston and at UConn, where Jarred supplied Blake with many free meals nabbed from Hillel.
Groomsman
Blake met Ankur when he "accidentally" dropped a pen at UConn orientation hoping Blake would pick it up. Blake fell into his trap, and the rest is history. They lived together for Blake's first three years together in Boston, as well as one year in a very, very clean dorm room at UConn.
