Our story began like all of history’s greatest love stories - I needed a date to my sorority formal. It was November 2018 (My junior year and Ian’s sophomore year at Baylor), and I didn't have a date, so I needed one of my friends to set me up with someone. I’d been set up for plenty of events before and nothing ever came from it, so I figured this time would be no different. Luckily, Emily Lohec came to the rescue and said one of William Reed’s roommates was free and would love to be my date. I didn’t actually meet Ian until we were in the car on the way to the event. I remember thinking he was cute and looked great in his suit. Our conversations flowed easily and he seemed to like my outgoing personality. Ian ended up being the best date I’d ever had! He told me I looked pretty, held my purse when I took pictures with my friends, happily took photos with me, tried my homemade guacamole even though he doesn't like avocados, hung out with me throughout the night without being too clingy, gave me his jacket when I got cold and was super nice to my friends and their dates. What more could you ask for from a blind date?! Neither of us are very flirtatious, so Ian didn’t ask for my phone number at the end of the night, and I didn’t hear from him for a month. Luckily, Emily and William began to meddle. Emily told me Ian had been asking about me, while William simultaneously told Ian I was asking about him. Finally, Ian asked me on a date to my favorite restaurant in Waco, Alpha and Omega, because he knew I loved Greek food. Our first date went great! Apparently, I did most of the talking, which I don’t remember but also doesn’t surprise me. We both went home for Christmas break a few days after our date and ended up Facetiming every other night for 4-6 hours getting to know each other. When we returned from break, we went on a few more dates. He asked me to be his girlfriend on January 18, 2019 (the week after we had our first kiss), and the rest is history! - Sommer (reviewed and approved by Ian)
