We were both raised in the DMV area, but never knew each other despite having plenty of mutual friends. From a young age, we both set out to pursue a career in medicine. Pavan began his Internal Medicine residency at Drexel University where he completed his intern year. Sneha joined a year later and began her intern year. Unfortunately, the residency program and hospital shut down and left their futures in a limbo. It was here in the waiting room of the program director's office (worriedly contemplating our futures in medicine) where we first met, sensing mutual attraction. Through perhaps destiny, we both ended up transferring to George Washington University Hospital’s residency program and so began Pavan’s courtship. The pandemic hit and we soon began spending much of our time together, this love blossoming into a lifetime commitment.

We grew up in Maryland and Virginia, flanking DC on both ends. I knew that a DC backdrop would be the perfect symbolization of our backgrounds joining. Sneha always enjoyed rooftop views and I found a setting with a beautiful view of the Washington Monument called “Top of the Town.” Under the guise of a date, and a last minute "request" from my mom to "scope" out a venue for my sister’s wedding, I took Sneha to the rooftop where I had already set up decorations and had a photographer waiting. I coordinated so both our families awaited just out of sight, and I proposed to Sneha as a surprise on April 17th, 2021 and she happily agreed. And so began our journey together!
