*MUST BE 21+ -Cocktail Bar, Piano Bar, Karaoke, Music Venue Established in 1835 inside the Lahr Luxury Hotel, the Knickerbocker Saloon became the first place to allow patrons to legally drink in Hoosier territory. It’s name was changed from the Gault House Tavern to the Cherry Wood Bar in the 1850s and finally to the Knickerbocker Saloon in 1874. Our cherry and walnut bar that welcomes guests from all over the world can be traced to 1891. The Knickerbocker Saloon has seen conversation and libation from many notable guests from over the years. John Purdue, President Ulysses S. Grant, Mark Twain, Al Capone, and even Purdue’s own Neil Armstrong are among guests that have enjoyed the ambiance of Indiana’s oldest bar.

Please check website for hours and read about the history of the farm, land and owners! Including their pups! “The farm is owned and operated by three families who are descended from the pioneers who purchased the farm in 1855. The farm has been owned by our family continuously since that time. The farm is incorporated under the name “Patrius Ara” which, in Latin, means “land of our fathers”. We take great pride in our heritage and we are working to maintain the buildings and grounds as near as possible to the original. There are two bank barns overlooking the creek which were used to house Shropshire sheep, Shorthorn cattle and Poland China pigs as well as horses and chickens. The barn lofts stored hay for the livestock and the land around the buildings was grazed.”
