We're Getting Married!

Despite spending two years at Albion (#smittenbritons) together, Evan and Annie were never really "friends". Fast forward more than ten years later, and they "re-met" at the wedding of a mutual friend in June of 2017. They talked, they danced, they were inseparable all night. After the wedding the party moved to a local bar where they talked for another hour...mostly about Evan's dog Rick, who is now the love of their collective life. The next day, Annie remembers hoping it was Evan when she heard her Facebook ping. It was. From that day on they talked and texted every single day for two weeks. Annie told her sister she had a huge crush him. She took a chance and invited him to a summer rooftop party she was throwing. Lucky for her, he said he would come, and in true Evan fashion, showed up about 3 hours early. She'll never forget the awkward conversation they had while she was pouring herself a 1pm whiskey (for the nerves) while Evan nervously paced around the living room. Once the party started, she told everyone who would listen that one day...she was going to marry Evan Smith. Evan was only supposed to stay one night that weekend, but he ended up staying until Monday. From there, they were off to the races. After almost a year and a half of weekend visits, a million south shore rides between South Bend and Chicago, Cubs games, Sunday naps, and too many laughs to count...Evan proposed at the annual Chicago holiday zoo celebration, Zoolights (a special place for them), on December 14, 2018. It was the easiest question she'd ever been asked. Evan and Annie knew early on that we were a forever thing, but they are thrilled to finally make it official with all of their family and friends. **we would like to give a special thanks to our families for helping us make our wedding day possible**
