Alex had told me he made reservations at our favorite restaurant in Chicago, Monteverde, to celebrate my new job once I had officially accepted my offer. That day, he emailed me the menu to get me excited about our date night ahead. We got home from work, got ready and headed up to our roof for a celebratory glass of wine. We get to the roof and Alex in a nervous fashion realizes he forgot his jacket downstairs (which is where he had the ring). We went back down to our apartment and returned to the roof to realize that the seat cushions were soaked as it had rained earlier that day. I walked over to the high top tables to turn around to realize he was on one knee. Never in my life have I been filled with such a rush of happiness. A feeling I can not put into words. Little did I know, our family and friends were in the lobby of our building watching the whole event occur on the building security surveillance. Once I had finally caught my breath and came back down to earth, out runs my dad (as most of you might know he is a rather fast runner and struggles with walking anywhere). Followed after him was my mom, Andrea and Alex's parents and Melanie and Elliott. The rest of our family and friends came rushing at us and was the most incredible moment of my entire life. I love you Alex and since I forgot to say it when you asked, THE ANSWER IS ABSOLUTELY!
