As most of you already know, we met on Bumble. We went on our first date at Rock N Brews and everything felt so natural. Our second date rolled around and Tanner had shaved his head AND his eyebrows at the Saint Baldrick's event for his brother. He says he knew I was a keeper after that date! Now here we are, four years, a house and dog later, and the best of friends.
We got engaged on our annual Crystal River trip. The year before, I joked about Tanner proposing to me on the Fourth of July since we love watching the fireworks together from our boat. Well, this year Tanner had a surprise up his sleeve for me! My dad and brother had come to fish with us. The weather was bad a majority of the day and we rode home in the pouring rain. I had a feeling it might happen (I had seen a few things ahead of time - nosey me!) but my mom wasn't there (or so I thought) so I was not expecting it that day. Little did I know, Tanner had reserved a room for my mom and she was hiding away until the proposal. We got ready to go to dinner and Tanner "forgot his wallet" on the boat. So we walked down to the boat docks in the rain, Aunt Christine "getting a drink" on her boat (AKA filming and taking pictures). Tanner practically fell down on one knee and surprise, surprise, I bawled my eyes out. Like, ugly cried. Mascara all over my face (a girl should really invest in waterproof mascara). Everyone cheered and we celebrated with our families. Best day ever!
