Question

What is the weather like in Scottsdale in May?

Answer

Hot and Dry! We expect it to be hot during the day and cooler in the evening. As soon as you get off the plane, start hydrating to avoid feeling unwell. The dry desert heat can sneak up on you. Be sure to take plenty of water, sunscreen and a hat if you are hiking or exploring the area. Remember to wear sunscreen!

Question

Are there outdoor activities to do in Scottsdale?

Answer

Enjoy the resorts! We plan to be by the pool on Thursday and Friday. Come say hi! Our favorite things include local hiking trails like Pinnacle Peak and Tom's Thumb which are both very close to the Four Seasons. For a more challenging hike, you can try Camelback Mountain (30 minute car ride). If you are interested in golf, there are several amazing courses nearby. We're happy to make recommendations.

Question

What else is there to do in Scottsdale?

Answer

Spas and shopping! Scottsdale is known for its amazing spas (Four Seasons, Camelback, Boulders, Phoenician, Montelucia). We would recommend booking early as May is high season. There is beautiful outdoor shopping in Kierland (15 minutes), Old Town (30 minutes), and Biltmore (40 minutes). Scottsdale is full of great dining options during your stay. Tell us what you're looking for and we can send some favorites!

Question

Will there be transportation the weekend of the wedding?

Answer

The Four Seasons is about 40 minutes from PHX and the Marriot is about 30 minutes away. When you arrive at PHX, there are ride share options like Uber or we can help connect you with a car service provider. On the day of the wedding, there will be transportation to and from the Marriot and the Hilton to the Four Season for the wedding.

Question

Where can I get my hair or make up done locally?

Answer

There are great options locally including Dry Bar, a salon on premises at the Four Seasons, and PRIV (similar to glamsquad).

Question

Is the wedding outside?

Answer

The ceremony, cocktails, and dinner will all be hosted outside on grass (turf). It will still be sunny during the ceremony. During cocktails, there will be airconditioned spaces to move in and out of. Dinner could be chilly once the sun goes down so plan a wrap or shawl if you feel you will need it. After dinner, we'll move into the ballroom for dancing!

Question

Is the wedding black tie?

Answer

Yes. If you do not have a tuxedo or are unable to rent a tuxedo we would recommend a dark suit and tie.

Question

What time does the wedding start?

Answer

The wedding ceremony begins promptly at 6:00 PM followed by cocktails and dinner under the stars. After dinner, we'll move into the ballroom for dancing!

Question

Can we bring our kids to the wedding?

Answer

We love your children and are excited if you plan to bring them to Scottsdale for some family time but the events of the wedding weekend are only for adults. If you need recommendations for babysitters we're happy to help find options so you can enjoy the evening with us!
