We’re getting married!

When Josh and I finally ventured out on our first date, masks and all, it was mid November. We met at Starbucks to pick up some warm drinks and drove together to the Detroit Zoo. We spent about four hours together talking about work and our favorite animals. After the caffeine from my chai tea set in, I headed to the ladies room. When I came out, Josh asked me how if it was a nice bathroom, which I replied yes. He then peeled the stuck toilet paper off my shoe - embarrassing! Josh must not have minded much, because we went out to brunch the very next day.

We love to go up north to visit my parents every summer. This year was particularly exciting because we were bringing up Josh’s new boat. The week before we went up he decided it would be a great idea to install drain plugs, but somehow lost a drill bit inside the boat. Upon our arrival up north, he found the missing drill bit sticking out the bottom of the boat and water came rushing out with it - whoops. Josh then crammed as much caulk and glue into the newly made hole. We waited a few days and decided to take the boat on the lake. My goal was to find a beach and have lunch, let the dogs plan, collect rocks - I love beaching the boat! When we get there, I’m starving and immediately start handing out sandwiches. Josh interrupts me, says he has a question to ask me. I turn and see a ring box (I’m hangry at this point) and say “can we eat first”. I put the food down and usher him to get on one knee and pick the correct hand. Of course I say yes! We ate, we didn’t sink and we got engaged! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in LaSalle!
