An aufruf is a traditional ceremony that takes place the Shabbat before a wedding. The couple is called to the Torah for a blessing called an aliyah. When the blessing is completed, the entire congregation wishes them luck and happiness by throwing soft candies at them Our part of the ceremony will be between 10-10:30 AM, but please feel free to arrive at any time Please do not use your cell phone, especially while in the main sanctuary on Shabbat (no photography) Male identifying guests: please wear a head covering (yarmulke 'yam-ah-kah'/kippah) before heading into the sanctuary - - - A kiddush is an after-services lunch on Shabbat Please join us for a spread of bagels and other brunch-time goods after the ceremony
