Shernise & John met at work many moons ago. We guess it’s safe to say, checks weren’t the only thing getting cashed 😂😂.
On what Shernise thought was going to be a relaxing trip with friends to Amelia Island, turned out to be something Shernise has wanted since she was 7. It was a warm August evening and the two love birds set out over the Southern Atlantic waters on a sunset cruise with a couple of their friends. The waters were calm and it was a nice cool summer breeze in the air. About 10 mins into their journey they noticed something in the water. As the captain brought the boat to an idle the couple looked over the edge. To their amazment dolphins were circling the boat!! They even put on a show, jumping out of the water, doing flips in the air, and even bringing their young calf almost within touching distance. The captain mentioned that he had never seen the dolphins act that way. As everyone marveled at the site, you could feel that the evening was going to be magical. The captain continued on through the waters of the Florida/ Georgia line passing all sorts of sights along the way. Like the house where the Pipi Longstocking Movie was filmed (we’re aging ourselves now LOL), The Dungeness Ruins, and they even got a chance to see the wild horses of Cumberland Island grazing off in the distance. As the sun was getting ready to turn in and the sky had turned into a purple, peach, orange, & pink melody of colors, the captain beached the boat on a small sandy inlet so everyone could get a couple pics. Palms, beach grass, and angel oaks with Spanish moss hanging off the trees set the background to what looked like a background out of a movie. As their friends were getting down from the bow of the boat from taking their pictures, John started fumbling in his pocket. Like the gentlemen he is, he helped Shernise up on the bow of the boat to get ready for their pictures. Pretending to step up on the bow as well, he dropped down to one knee, and the rest was history.
