Dinner will be served buffet-style, and we have made arrangements to accommodate all dietary restrictions that we are aware of, so special requests are not necessary.
No. Our guests are staying in a wide range of locations. We suggest either staying within walking distance from the Dream Inn OR planning to take an Uber to and from the event.
Yes. You will not need to drive between them.
There are TONS of options in the area, and since it is a holiday weekend availability can be scarce! We recommend trying to find a place as close to the Santa Cruz Dream Inn (our venue) as possible, whether it be a hotel, VRBO, AirBnB, or even the couch of a friend to crash on. Reach out to us with issues or further questions.
We are getting married on the beach (weather permitting, of course), and although this not a black-tie affair, please dress nicely anyway! California is usually sunny at this time but can be a bit chilly on the beach, especially in the evening. We recommend having layers available to bundle up during the ceremony if needed, and we recommend no stilettos since they don't tend to do well when walking on sand. You are welcome to remove your shoes to walk on the beach and keep them under your chair, but please bring shoes with you to wear at the reception.
Parking can be found in a lot across from the Dream Inn. Get a ticket and then have it validated at the front desk, just tell them you are there for the Shepard/Dietz wedding.
Sorry, but no! We have provided our final count to the venue and it is too late.
This is entirely up to you and your personal comfort level. Our ceremony is outdoors, the cocktail reception is both in and outdoors, and the reception will be inside.
