Shane was, quite literally, the boy next door. Initially unsure how she felt about a co-ed dorm, Emma instantly pushed her reservations aside when she met her neighbor on day 1 of college. The two became best friends from the start, with Emma laughing at Shane's old soul mannerisms (if you know Shane, you remember "What's goin' on here?" the best), and Shane sharing his Rice-A-Roni with the floor after a night out. While neither wanted to date going into college, Emma told all of her friends that she knew she eventually wanted to marry Shane. It wasn't long after this that they pulled an all-nighter in Centennial Hall's laundry room, getting to know all about each other and sharing stories from before they had met a month ago. From that day on, the two spent much of their time together, from making trips to the grocery store to visiting each other's home town, and in following years taking classes at Truman together, being part of other family weddings, and accompanying each other on trips all over the country. Since 2016, Emma & Shane have begun their careers, were engaged after Emma’s graduation from Wash U in May 2022, and have closed on a house in St. Charles, MO. It has been a long haul and the couple is so excited to celebrate their wedding with you!!
