Max and I met right after the pandemic. Neither of us had any idea what we were looking for, but it turns out, we were looking for each other. I matched with Max because he was tall, had beautiful teeth and impeccable grammar. Max messaged me because he was charmed by my profile, where I mentioned I would always rather converse with dogs than people. (This is still true.) Max was a little bit late to our first date at a wine bar in the East Village, but worth the wait. What was meant to be a drink or two turned into a six-hour conversation. We bonded quickly over a shared love and appreciation for our families, dogs, Nobu’s salad dressing, live music and the awkwardness of usually being the tallest people in a crowd. Fast forward a couple of years and we’ve shared movie nights, amazing meals, concerts and travel adventures—but our favorite thing is simply being together. We now have a lovely little home in Park Slope, Brooklyn with Petunia, our beloved Cardigan Corgi (who may make an appearance at our wedding!). We are so excited to celebrate our love with the people we care about most at a venue that holds such a special place in our hearts.
