I wanted my proposal to be special while also not overly dramatic. A nice weekend getaway ending with the question seemed like a nice idea and kept it fairly relaxed. We decided to visit La Conner, a coastal town not too far north of Everett. We picked out a comfy looking inn with a nice view of the surrounding farmland and mountain ranges. After a day of exploring and wandering around the town, we found ourselves at a local tavern off of the Main Street. We had a nice dinner together and played Chaos Uno (a little variant to Uno we’d played with friends before). It was a nice feeling, having the time together and just being ourselves without really caring. Once we finished, we took a short nighttime walk to the pier and watched some of the boats and birds go by. When we returned to the inn, I decided then to pop the question when she had her back turned. She’d barely finished taking off her jacket when she was met with the sight of me on one knee with the ring in my hand. After a short laugh, I said the words, “Shelby Evans, you make me the happiest man in the world. Will you marry me?” After a moment of smiles and surprise, the answer came forward; “Yes”!

I can not wait to see each and everyone of you! Even though this day is about celebrating the joining of two family I also want this to be a blast! So please drink, dance, wear some glowstick, etc. and just have the best time celebrating! There will be a cash bar, and all purchases will go towards our housing fund and a tip to the bartender.
