Dylan and I met at a volunteer fair at Alburnett High School. At the time I was a sophomore and Dylan was a senior. As my bus was leaving the parking lot, I had one of my friends yell out of the bus window, "Hey! Do you know a Shelby Mackey!" when he said yes butterflies instantly started. I was going to make the first move, but he added me on Instagram and then on Snapchat. We started talking and felt our spark starting to light. Our first date was a week later and we went to a bonfire at one of Dylan's friend's houses. It became official that night. Three dates later Dylan and I had our first kiss! It was magical... well to a point! We were both very nervous. As I was walking back up the my house, he yelled out the three words, "I love you!" Two months into the relationship Dylan and I broke up. It was heartbreaking. We were both so young and this was Dylan's first relationship. He didn't know what he wanted and needed to figure out who he was. A week after we broke up I invited him to a wedding of our old teacher that I was going to with my grandparents. I wore my prettiest dress and made sure I looked extra good. I had one of my friends text me through the night with a fake name so it looked like it was a boy to make Dylan jealous... it worked! He got so upset and was constantly asking who I was talking to. Dylan asked me to dance when our song "In Case You Didn't Know" came on. As we danced he whispered the song into my ear. Once it was over we sat down and had a heartfelt talk and then we had the most magical, spark-igniting, fairytale kiss ever. Dylan and I got back together a week after the kiss at Alburnett Benefit Days. As we watched the fireworks we asked me to officially be his girlfriend and give him another chance. Ever since then, he and I have been inseparable.
