HOU / IAH
We recommend flying into Hobby (HOU) if you can. It's a quick 42 minutes drive to Galveston. Lots of directs on Southwest from LAX, OAK, MDW, BWI, DIA, and even BOS. If you can't find a good flight into Hobby, or refuse to give up your status on United, you can fly into George Bush Intercontinental. It's a little over an hour without traffic.
