It’s a big weekend in the Quad Cities! The Bix 7 is an annual 7-mile road race that starts and ends in downtown Davenport. This year, organizers have set a cap at 10,000 participants — but that’s still a lot of people! The race starts at 8 a.m. on Saturday at the intersection of Brady and 4th Street. If you are staying at one of the recommended hotels in downtown Davenport, please give yourself extra time to find parking and get around, especially on Saturday morning. St. Pius X Church is roughly a 15-minute drive from both the hotels and the reception venue, and there is plenty of parking at the church. The Figge Art Museum (our reception venue) is just a short walk from both the Radisson and the Current hotels. There is also a free parking lot with no time limit south of the Figge on River Drive. You will enter through the South entrance of the museum. Because it's Bix weekend, there are several block parties planned in downtown Davenport. Hopefully it won't be an issue, but please give yourself extra time to find parking or consider taking an Uber.
Masks are not required at St. Pius X Church or the Figge. At the church, ushers will guide you to socially-distanced seating. At the reception, there will be outdoor space during the cocktail hour, but dinner will be served inside. Reception tables will be limited to roughly 10 guests. If you are not feeling well, please stay home in order to keep everyone safe.
