If you are visiting from out of town, there is plenty for you to do when you're not occupied with wedding events! You can do a variety of tours in the French Quarter, such as a ghost tour, a cemetery tour, or an architectural tour. You can take a horse-drawn carriage ride through the Quarter, stroll down Royal and Magazine Streets to browse local boutiques, or visit one of our famous museums. There are also dozens of restaurants and bars located within walking distance of the hotels. We've listed a few of our favorite spots below!

The National WWII Museum

World class museum located just outside the French Quarter. Highly recommended! Plan to spend 5-6 hours here.

Mardi Gras World

Museum of the facility where Mardi Gras floats are made! Very fun tour, especially if you have never been to Mardi Gras. Plan to spend 3-4 hours

New Orleans Museum of Art

Art museum located in New Orleans City Park. Uber drive away from French Quarter. There is a free sculpture garden, where Jordan and Shaun got engaged! Plan to spend 2-3 hours here. You can make an entire day out of City Park by visiting NOMA, the sculpture garden, the museum café, the New Orleans Botanical Gardens and Café Du Monde. There are also several other restaurants located nearby - a few are listed below.

Immersive art gallery located in the Bywater neighborhood - great for photos! Uber drive away from the French Quarter. Plan to spend an hour here. Great restaurants nearby, such as Bacchanal (an outdoor wine garden with live music daily) and Bratz Y'all (an outdoor German beer garden).

Jordan took Shaun here for their first date! Located on Oak Street, you can take the street car or Uber. You can spend an entire evening on Oak Street by visiting a variety of bars after dinner, such as Ale (where Jordan took Shaun after dinner on their first date!) and Oak Street Brewery.

Irish Cultural Museum

Coffee and whiskey bar located in the French Quarter. Favorite spot of Shaun and Jordan. Order the espresso martini or Irish coffee.

The Maison New Orleans

Jazz club with live music located on Frenchman Street in the Marigny neighborhood, within walking distance of the French Quarter. Swing by around dinner time to grab a table or stop by later in the night for a more lively crowd. There are many jazz clubs and other venues playing live music along Frenchman Street every night; these few blocks offer some of the best music New Orleans has to offer.

The Carousel Bar & Lounge

Shaun and Jordan met for the first time at this iconic New Orleans bar. Get here early to get a seat at the carousel; it makes a full rotation around the bar every 15 minutes. Shaun recommends the French 75!

New Orleans School of Cooking

Pirates Alley

An absinthe bar located next to St. Louis Cathedral. Best known for their absinthe drip, but Shaun insists on making everyone with her get the Toxic Baby shot every time they stop by! Cash only.
