And so it began...

In 2004, we met at a meeting in San Francisco. Shauna thought John was an obnoxious Okie and John thought Shauna was an uptight b!+@# with a chip on her shoulder. After several years working together, the friendship grew and so did their respect for each other. In 2008, John asked Shauna to join him in Afghanistan as a Procurement Analyst and instructor while he served as the Chief of Contracting at the Afghanistan Engineering District, US Army Corps of Engineers. After spending that time together, and enduring a few tests of our friendship and patience, Shauna and John knew they had feelings for each other. After Shauna accepted a promotion as the Chief of Contracting at Tulsa District, she moved to Oklahoma and moved in with John as he returned from Afghanistan. Over the years together John has helped Shauna through her battle with the "big C" and they have traveled the world together. They have shared the ups and downs. As they did their love for one another grew even deeper. John surprised Shauna in April 2017 by proposing to her while he was on vacation in Australia and she was working in Washington DC. Absence made the heart grow fonder...and propose! Thank you for joining Shauna and John as they take their first steps in another great adventure in their life together!
