We met working at StudentLife Camps in 2021 leading worship together. Ethan was an electric guitarist and Hope was a vocalist. Of course, during the summer, we spent tons of time together not only leading worship, but traveling many states to put on camps. We lead games on the rec fields together and stayed up late doing all of the camp rituals. But when the summer came to a close, Ethan asked Hope to be his girlfriend and she said yes! That July 23rd would start almost 2.5 years of long distance between Texas and Virginia and even Italy and Virginia. Seeing each other almost every other month, we were always sad to leave each other! But when Hope moved to Alabama, Ethan decided to take the leap so that we could live in the same place before getting engaged! During the summer of 2024, Hope jetted to Italy to conduct her research and counted down the days til she saw Ethan in Italy! On a day trip to Florence, Ethan wanted to revisit the Boboli Gardens(where they went in 2021) and in the heat and beauty of the gardens, he asked Hope to marry him! And of course, she said yes!
