On a frigid January day while hanging out in his living room at 84 G St. in South Boston, Ethan decided to open his Facebook app like he'd done thousands of times in the past. While scrolling, he came across a Facebook group called "MeetJew", which a few of his friends were a part of. It seemed to be a group created during covid, made for Jewish singles to connect. "Why not?" he asked himself, and he decided to join. After a quick search of singles in the Boston area, he came across a post featuring Leah Jayne, made by her good friend Hannah Goldberg. "Leah loves to brunch, kickbox, and dance. She also loves to travel and practice her Spanish!".... this outgoing description, as well as her beauty captured in 3 pictures, caught Ethan's eye and he decided to reach out! A few days later on January 6th, Ethan and Leah had their very first date at Castle Island Brewery in Southie. Over a couple beers and pizzas, Ethan and Leah realized they were meant to be. Both of them have 2 younger siblings - Leah with two sisters, and Ethan with two brothers. Both of their mothers are from Framingham, MA. They both love eating any type of delicious food, exploring new beaches and cities, and watching a game at any South Boston sports bar (well maybe Ethan more than Leah). They also share a few mutual friends - in fact, they realized they were both in attendance at the same bat mitzvah when they were 13, and maybe even slow-danced! While the date only lasted roughly an hour, a unique connection was definitely there, and before the end of the night, Ethan and Leah shared their first kiss. A spark had been lit! The rest is history. Since that cold night in early 2022, Ethan and Leah have shared countless memories. From Red Sox and Celtics games, to traveling to over 10 states, to visiting Israel, to attending Title Boxing Classes every week. Not only have they been together in the happiest of times, but they've also helped each other get through several challenges. All in all, Ethan and Leah's love for each other is truly everlasting.
Almost exactly a year and a half after their first date, Ethan and Leah made a trip to one of their favorite summer destinations, Newport RI. After a fun Saturday that consisted of a delicious brunch, a beach visit, and a long walk through the streets of Newport, it was time to get ready for dinner. Ethan and Leah made their way to The Dining Room at Castle Hill Inn, a beautiful hotel next to the historic Castle Hill Lighthouse. Before dinner, Ethan recommended they check-out the views at the Lighthouse, which sits on beautiful cliffs overlooking the ocean. After walking through a relaxing nature path, they arrived at the lighthouse. As a romantic fog sat above the water, Ethan held Leah's hand, and proceeded to get on one knee. "Since the day I met you, I always knew you'd be my wife one day", Ethan said before asking for Leah's hand in marriage. "Absolutely, Yes!!!", exclaimed Leah. Just like that, they were engaged.
