I was 25 - frustrated and feeling like I was never going to meet anyone. Watching my friends around me fall in love, get married, start careers. I felt "stuck in a rut". I was going on endless Hinge dates but they just seemed like duds. I decided to get a job as a wedding planner (I have a bachelors in hospitality & tourism from FGCU) at a local country club during COVID to pass my time until I waited for X-ray school to start. I finally felt like I was getting my career plan back on track. I was working late one Friday night to cover for my boss while she was on vacation. I usually never work Fridays. I was trying to wrap up my work and go home for the night. All of the sudden, I hear a knock at my office door. I look up to see the most HANDSOME police officer standing in front of me. I was in shock. I asked "May I help you?" He replied, "Do you have a bathroom in this facility I could use?" I showed him the way. About 5 minutes later, he came and thanked me and introduced himself as the new Deputy for BSO in the area if I ever needed anything. He told me his name was Rob. I could barely get my name out I was so smitten. I said "Hi, I'm Jess" He then got a call & off he went, as quick as he came in! I remember going home that night to my mom and saying "this cute police officer came into my office today looking for the bathroom and then he was gone, like Cinderella!!!" The next day, I went to work still wondering if I ever was going to see this mystery man again. GUESS WHO CAME IN TO USE THE BATHROOM AGAIN THAT DAY- OFFICER ROB! I knew in that moment I could not let him get away again. We exchanged numbers and immediately began texting/went on a date....and well the rest is history. I had no idea in that moment, that deputy I met would become my husband! I still pinch myself everyday of all the zones in Deerfield Beach (14 to be exact) he got assigned Deer Creek Country Club (Zone 9), which was mine, of all the cities in Broward he got Deerfield so our paths could cross, that I happened to be working THAT Friday night because my boss was out of town (which I never usually did). Some say it was fate or destiny. One apartment, two families full of love, three delicious fur children, & two amazing careers later. All I know is...I can't WAIT to marry you Robert Michael Kessler. #JessgoingKess
