Luckily we met for coffee a few days before the world shut down due to COVID-19. While sipping coffee on our first date we learned of all our mutual interests and both of us left thinking that there might just be something there. After meeting up a few more times for walks and runs on the canal we became official quarantine buddies. We spent the next several months hiking, biking, kayaking, camping, and cooking amazing recipes together and the rest is history.
In true COVID fashion we had been exploring local takeout options throughout the pandemic but had not gone out on a dinner date. To celebrate one year of adventures we decided to do just that! Mike reserved an igloo overlooking a gorgeous waterfall at Farmer’s Creekside Tavern. After a delicious candlelight dinner, Mike said that he wrote a little poem because he couldn’t find a card that captured our year just right. Well that poem led into a beautiful proposal that of course mentioned Lucy pup...me and you, but Lucy comes too! It might have taken a global pandemic to meet the one and fall in love, but this relationship has truly been the silver lining through the craziest of times. Let the celebrations begin!!
