The beaches are free after Labor day, so no beach tags needed. You can find a beach entrance at the Eastern end of nearly every street in Avalon / Stone Harbor. PSA *** Due to Hurricane Lee, rip tides are stronger than usual. While we still recommend visiting the beach, we advise going in water past your knees. There are not be lifeguards past Labor Day.
Highly recommend a trip to Stone Harbor's 96th St for some best-of-island shopping (take advantage of those end of season discounts), bayside dinner & cocktails (restaurant recs below), and mini-golfing. If you're staying at a hotel, this is about a 15 minute walk. If you're staying closer to 21st st in Avalon, it's a quick 10 minute drive or 30 minute bike ride.
Attached to the Icona hotel, this beach bar is a must-visit - which is why we are hosting our after party here immediately following the reception (10-11pm).
If you're in the mood for beachy, bougie, bay-side views, then I highly recommend visiting the reeds for a cocktail (or lunch/dinner too). Great location for sunset views.
Located a block away from 96th street, buckets is a fun bar to hit post shopping / post beach / post biking for some lovely bayside views, margaritas, and some casual Mexican bites.
Recommended Italian restaurant that can seat small or large parties and is walking distance to our welcome party.
For those of you craving fresh seafood at a casual wear-a-bib-to-eat-your-lobster joint, this is a solid spot that is walking distance to our welcome party on Friday.
A BYOB casual lunch/dinner beachy spot to grab a salad, fish tacos, wood-fired pizza, or hoagie and a convenient 1 block away from welcome party. Good for a mid beach/bay take-out lunch as well.
