Without going into too much detail, Alyssa and I weren't always very fond of one another. Misguided and false information was spread that planted negative seeds in each of our brains. Through somewhat tragic circumstances, a friendship ensued where we were able to get to know the real personalities of one another. Alyssa then pursued me (yes, it's true) as more than friends and a beautiful relationship blossomed. Over three years' time we've built a wonderful life together and shared many cherished experiences. Now, on Friday November 8th, 2024, we have the pleasure of making our family official as we share our vows and begin a lifetime of love together.
During our trip to London for the Bills game, we stopped to visit Paris along the way. The evening before October 5th, we went to watch the Eiffel Tower light up and shimmer as it does at the top of each hour. The next morning, we planned to go back to the same location to watch the sunrise behind the Eiffel Tower and enjoy some mimosas. We wanted our picture taken and "asked a stranger" if she could take the picture. I had pre-planned a mini photo session with a Parisian photographer who knew I planned to propose and was there to capture the moment. So, when I did take a knee to propose, she began to photograph and was able to capture every moment. I don't recall exactly what or all that I said during my proposal, but I know I said, "well you knew this was coming," followed by "I promise my vows will be better," and finally, "will you marry me?" While not all that surprised, as she knew I had a ring and hoped for it to happen in Paris, Alyssa said "YES."
