It was the year two-thousand eleven when Alex was rocking the saxophone in middle school band and Shannon had her eye on him from the flute section. Any chance they got, they talked. They became besties quickly because they’re meant to be! Shalex had spanish class together and were also on the cast and crew of the eighth grade musical! Ps. We both have zero recollection of meeting each other, we just knew of each other until it was game over. We were boo’d up by the eighth grade field trip and have been together since.
The absolute most gorgeous day in Cape May. Picture this. After a trolley ride through the historical town of Cape May, the “peanut butter place” (what we call Cape May Peanut Butter Co.) was the obvious spot for an afternoon snackie. Shannon mistakenly bought crunchy peanut butter that day sadly :(. But she also got the pair a peanut butter cannoli to split, which is important to the plot. We moseyed on over to the fountain next to the gazebo where earlier we saw a wedding party taking pictures, and plopped down on a bench to enjoy our treat. After agreeing that it was the perfect day, Alex decided he needed a water bottle from the truck about a block away, because “that cannoli” made him “so thirsty”. When he came back he had a water bottle, but he also had a little box in his pocket containing their promise for forever.
A day we’ve been dreaming of forever, that will soon be a reality…
