Squam Lake is a pristine lake just south of the White Mountains in New Hampshire where Will and Shanley met going to family summer camp.

Question

What is Rockywold-Deephaven Camps (RDC)

Answer

Rockywold-Deephaven Camps (RDC) is the rustic family camp where we met and a place both of our families have gone every summer for multiple generations. The camp is a collection of cabins nestled on the pristine shores of Squam Lake.

Question

What are the closest airports? How do we get there?

Answer

The closest airport is Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT), which is roughly 1-1.5 hours from RDC. Boston Logan (BOS) is roughly 2-2.5 hours from RDC. If traveling by car, the address for Rockywold-Deephaven Camps (RDC) is: 18 Bacon Rd, Holderness, NH 03245.

Question

What are the accommodations?

Answer

Guests have the option to either stay at Rockywold-Deephaven Camps or at various other accommodations in the surrounding area. The accommodations at Rockywold-Deephaven Camps are lakefront cabins with private rooms and shared living spaces (more information on the lodging page).

Question

Is there wifi or cell reception?

Answer

Cell reception can be spotty around the lake, but there is standard (non-high speed) wifi at RDC.

Question

Do we have to stay at RDC?

Answer

If you don't want to stay at RDC there are a handful of options in the surrounding areas. Please check availability as soon as you can, Labor Day Weekend can get busy up there! Please see the Lodging page for information on other options.

Question

How much does it cost to stay at RDC? What is included?

Answer

The cost is $165 per person, per night, excluding tax. This includes a private room in a shared cabin. Breakfast and dinner are included.

Question

When should we arrive and depart?

Answer

Check in at RDC is after 2pm on Saturday, August 31st. There will be a welcome BBQ at 5:30 pm. Check out from RDC is 11am on Monday, September 2nd.

Question

What is there to do once we get there?

Answer

Relax on a dock. Introduce yourself to someone new. Read on a porch. Swim. Play tennis. Climb Rattlesnake Mountain. One of the reasons we love Squam and RDC so much is that it allows you to disconnect from the craziness of the world and enjoy the company of others or the outdoors. The closest town is Holderness (20 minute drive) and there are some small shops and restaurants. If you want to venture further there are bigger towns or mountains.

Question

What is the wedding attire?

Answer

Summer cocktail. If you want to wear a suit or dress, go for it! If you want to wear a bathing suit, wear it underneath and go swimming after! You will be walking down a forest path so wear thick heels!

Question

What restaurants or food options are around?

Answer

Breakfast and dinner are provided if you are staying at RDC. There are options for lunch or other meals and snacks in Holderness (20 minute drive). We recommend bringing snacks, beverages, and beer/wine/liquor for your cabins! Squam Lake Marketplace is great for lunch! Bob's Sure Fine is the local grocery store for snacks and beer/wine/liquor etc.

Question

How do we get to and from Chocorua Island (Church Island) for the Wedding Ceremony?

Answer

We will be providing boat shuttles to and from Chocorua Island (Church Island) from the Deephaven Main Dock. Maps to Deephaven Main Dock and the camp will be provided when you arrive.

Question

Can we bring our kids?

Answer

As much as we LOVE kiddos, we are kindly asking you to find a sitter unless we have spoken to you directly.

Question

Can we bring our pets?

Answer

Please leave your furry, fluffy, scaly, or feathered friends at home. RDC and Church Island do not allow pets, unless they are service animals. If you are planning on bringing a service animal, please let us know!

Question

Square Dancing?

Answer

Grab your partner and get ready to dosey doe! If you're open to a little fun, laughing, and getting an opportunity to meet all the great people we know and love, you will have a good time. We grew up going to the Friday night Square Dance at RDC during the summers and wanted to share the goofiness and fun with all of you. Plus it is a good way to break the ice and meet others you may not know. No prior experience required - we will have a band and caller to instruct us, so if you have half a rhythm and can follow instructions, you'll be fine.

Question

I have a question not on this list!

Answer

Please reach out to either of us directly if you have any other questions!
