Malik was hired to film a commercial for a church called Healthy Hearts Ministries. When he arrived to the job he noticed a beautiful woman name Shanice Smith. He immediately noticed her beauty, but of course he played it cool and kept things professional. Him and Shanice vibed really well during the duration of the shoot. Shanice even began to compliment him by telling him that she was very proud of him for having his own business. Those were the magical words that Malik needed to hear that day which lit a flame in his eyes towards Shanice. The rest is history!

Malik derived a brilliant plan to propose during his church’s candle lit Christmas Eve service. He knew that Shanice would be there serving upstairs and wouldn’t notice all of her family and friends downstairs watching the service. Malik had also pre recorded an inspiring video captivating his love for Shanice along with pictures and videos taken throughout the 6 months of their courtship. Towards the end of service, Pastor Ryan called Malik and Shanice on stage. Shanice thought the pre recorded video was a thank you to the media team. She had no idea that it was actually her proposal video! As the candles were burning along with the video singing of his love and admiration towards Shanice, Malik dropped down on one knee at the end of the video and asked Shanice to marry him. Shanice said “YES!”
