We're Getting Married!

I had heard about a wild guy named Shane through the grapevine. I was told he was goofy, loud, the life of the party, and was GREAT with kids. My ears perked up quite a bit because he sounded like the whole darn package for my quirky, reserved, introverted self with a 3 year old daughter. So, in perfect millennial fashion, I found his Facebook. I talked about him all summer long, how he seemed like the perfect guy for me but I was far too nervous to make the first move. I tried dropping subtle hints by "liking" his memes but never got a message. He noticed me alright... but in his words, "she would never like me, not a chance in hell". Thus, the bar was entirely in my court. One cool November night in 2020, my sister Calla had enough of me wining about Shane and told me to just get it over with. So, like the memelord I am, I sent him my favorite Spongebob meme, called him cute and chill, and told him to text me sometime. What was the worst that could happen, I'd get left on read? I sent the message, immediately cringed at my corny pick-up line and went on a 3 mile run to blow off my embarrassment haha. When I came back, I took a deep-breathe and looked at my phone to see a text message from Shane saying "hey its that cute and chill guy". I smiled and replied with some sarcastic joke as we began an effortless, natural conversation that flowed as if we had known each other for our entire lives. We talked about almost 2 weeks before we met for the first time at a friends' fire. Neither of us will ever forget the instant connection we had when we locked eyes from across the fire. It was a true "love at first sight" moment. "I'm going to be seeing this goofball for a very long time..." I thought to myself. Boy how right I was. Shoutout to Calla for making it all happen haha!
