Our first beginning was a short one. We began texting, then quick glances back and forth, then on May 10th, 2016 we began dating. We stayed in the “honeymoon phase” for the entirety of that relationship; up until the moment it ended. Our second beginning, was probably just as corny— starting with texts back and fourth at two in the morning. Then, we visited one another in the midst of a still ongoing pandemic. Then, on April 20th, 2020 we got back together, and are stronger than ever. We can’t wait to say “I do.”
It was a lovely evening at the Vista House. No clouds, no rain. One might call it perfect weather. We had packed a small picnic to take with us. We were standing by the edge, watching the sunset. “She wouldn’t stop focusing on me!” Shane said. He moved to the left, then to the right, then to the left again. Soon enough, he was standing behind his soon to be fiancé on one knee. “I know you’ll say yes anyway, but. Will you marry me?” He completely forgot his speech. But I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
