FAQs

The Wedding Website of Shan Yu and Yingchi Liu
Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Unfortunately, as we would like to keep our wedding small and intimate, we ask that you do not bring a plus one unless it had been discussed with us prior.

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will be outdoors. The venue space may have grass and pebbles, so please wear comfortable shoes :)

Question

What happens in case of rain?

Answer

For inclement weather, the reception will be moved to the Remington Ballroom, which is an indoor dining space. However, please note that the CEREMONY will still be held OUTDOORS in the Grotto area, rain or shine! While we hope that we will welcome the day in sunshine, we realize that just as with anything in life and marriage, there are no guarantees. In the case of rain, we will provide all guests with umbrellas to use during the ceremony. Thank you for your understanding - we simply love the peace and serenity of the Grotto too much to move it indoors!

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive by 12:45pm at the venue. We are hoping to begin the ceremony at 1:00pm, if weather allows. Please meet at the Tonsorium Bar on the first floor of the hotel, and staff will direct guests towards the venue.

Question

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

Yes, the hotel offers valet parking. Just mention that you are here for Shan and Yingchi’s wedding!

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Our wedding will be semi-formal. Guys - think tuxes and suits in any neutral color. Ladies - think cocktail, midi, or maxi dresses, dressy pantsuits or jumpsuits, or a nice blouse and slacks. Traditional East Asian clothing is also welcome! The only color that we ask you to avoid is white, out of courtesy to the bride.

Question

Will there be food and drink?

Answer

Yes! There will be hors d'oeuvres served during cocktail hour. Our reception will feature plated dinners with three entrée options: Washington beef short rib, wild king salmon, or English pea ravioli. A description of each entrée can be found on the RSVP page itself. Each guest will be asked to select an entrée at the time of RSVP. We will also have an open bar with beer, wine, champagne, and cocktails for those who wish to toast our marriage with a drink!

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes, you can indicate any dietary restrictions and allergies when you RSVP.

Question

Are there any events planned for after the reception?

Answer

Yes! We hope to have party games and other activities to enjoy after the reception and food.
