Kyle and I first met our freshman year at The University of Texas at Austin through mutual friends within our greek life organizations. Throughout our 4 years at UT Austin, we and maintained a steady friendship. It wasn't until senior year that we decided to go to a date event together. I asked him to my date dash... he was already going with another girl. He asked me to his... I was going with a guy in his pledge class. The back and forth continued for another couple of events until he said "ok what are you doing 2 months from now...let's go to Cowboys Formal". The rest is history.
Kyle's parents had yet to visit since we moved back to Austin and wanted to schedule a trip to see our new place, hangout with the pups, and celebrate Kyle's birthday. Before going to dinner with his parents, Kyle said we were going to a new bar at the top of The Catherine for cocktails with a great view of the skyline. When we got up to the rooftop, it is completely empty… he assured me that it must be opening soon and that we should just go wait outside on the roof to take in the view. I started taking pictures when Kyle asked me to get off my phone and “enjoy the view”. As I put my purse down, he starts a speech that I can’t even remember now because I was so confused what was going on, and then before I knew it, he was on one knee. As you can tell from the photos I was in complete SHOCK… he had to ask twice because I couldn’t even comprehend what was happening. Our hidden photographer captured the entire moment and our families (+ the pups) were waiting across the street at Zilker Park with champagne to celebrate! We then went to dinner at one of our favorite Austin restaurants, and went to a new bar “for drinks” after dinner. There, we were surprised by all of our closest friends that helped us celebrate the remainder of the night!
