FAQs

The Wedding Website of Selene Canchola and Andre Firme
Question

Are we going to be there in person or watch it via Zoom?

Answer

Unfortunately, not everyone will be able to celebrate with us in person. For everyone's safety during the Pandemic and because of venue regulations, we are limited to having some of our immediate family members attend in-person. We are glad to have all our close friends and family that will not be able to attend in-person join our celebration virtually via Zoom!

Question

Will I be able to bring an additional guest to the wedding?

Answer

In-person attendees will not be able to bring additional guests due to pandemic restrictions and venue limitations. We would love to accommodate requests to invite others to join our most special day, yet we also want this occasion to be exclusive for the guests that were invited directly. For these reasons, we ask that guests invited to the virtual ceremony consult us before inviting someone else to watch along.

Question

May I take pictures of the ceremony to post on my personal social media?

Answer

Yes, we would not mind that you share our special day with your friends, but we also ask that you do so respectfully and tastefully, representing the occasion with the dignity you would hope one would use for yourself. Don't forget to tag us and use the hashtag #andrelene !

Question

Do we have to be vaccinated for COVID-19 to attend in-person?

Answer

We recommend that all guests be vaccinated for COVID-19 or have tested negative for it within a week of our wedding day. Also, we ask that guests do their utmost to be responsible and help our event be safe, such as not attending if you are symptomatic of any contagious illness or if exposed to a sick individual. Our venue is strict on following pandemic guidelines and will be checking guests' temperature upon entry, turning away anyone that is running a fever.

Question

May I share the virtual event details with others?

Answer

We ask that you ask us, the couple, for permission before sharing Zoom login information for our wedding. Please do not share the information otherwise, as it will put at risk the dignity and security of the event. Due to the flexibility that is the virtual wedding stream, if you ask before you share, we may be able to accommodate for others to share in the joy of our wedding. Yet, we do reserve the right to say no to any additional requests.

Question

Will this wedding be religious in nature?

Answer

As Jehovah's Witnesses, we recognize Jehovah God to be the Creator of the institution of marriage (Genesis 2:18-24); therefore, our wedding is an inherently religious event. We do, however, recognize that many of our guests are of a variety of beliefs. Our wedding will consist of a 30 minute discourse on marriage from the Biblical perspective, and our event will be dignified as is appropriate for Christians, following Biblical principles. We will have fun! And everyone will be comfortable, with no one being asked to do any uncomfortable things. This wedding will be "normal!" All we ask is for all to respect the high standards of our beliefs, contributing to the wedding being "family friendly."
