How We Met

March 2017

We were first introduced to each other in Philosophy class our junior year at Belmont University in Nashville, TN. We sat next to each other for an entire semester and probably said about 5 words to one other. Little did we know how our story would unfold. Fast forward to senior year Spring Break in Panama City Beach. We each went there separately with our friends and had no idea that each other would be there. We met up on the beach because Megan knew one of Nate's best friends. We all spent time with each other throughout the week, and on the last night the group went to Club La Vela. We danced the night away, ended the night talking for hours on the balcony, and the rest is history.

Why We Call Each Other Peach

"I can't hear ya peach!" - Gill, Finding Nemo

For those who don't know Nate, he is right 99% of the time, or so he thinks... One night we were watching Finding Nemo and before the line came up in the movie, Nate quoted Gill when he is talking to the starfish, but he said "I can't hear ya PJ (pronounced peej)." Megan laughed at him and said that the starfish's name is Peach. Nate argued because he went to school with someone named PJ (pronounced peej). Megan responded that the starfish was a peach color, so it had to be Peach. Nate continued to believe he was right and Megan was wrong, so Megan fact checked Nate... Megan was right. A day or so later, Nate was making fun of Megan for being right by calling her Peach and Megan made fun of him right back. The name Peach stuck.

The Proposal

10.15.2021

Nate told Megan that TUSC (Tennessee United Soccer Club) had a fundraiser at Arrington Vineyards and asked if she wanted to go. There's wine at vineyards, so obviously Megan jumped at the opportunity. As the fundraiser approached, Nate told Megan that there was a $100 Amazon gift card for whoever got best picture, so we had to look our best. We pulled up to the Vineyard and as we walked up the hill, Nate pointed out a table with a blue tablecloth at the very top next to a huge tree. He said that no one from the club was there yet and we just had to wait until everyone got there. There was wine on the table, along with a polaroid camera. Megan picked up the camera to a take a picture of them both, but the button wouldn't work so she started messing with it to try to fix it. When she looked up, Nate was on one knee holding a small box. Megan cried, of course, and said "YES!" as soon as he asked her to marry him. When she looked up from the ring on her finger and turned around, both of their families and some friends ran out from the trees. Then Megan cried some more. And then we all celebrated by drinking the night away with wine.
