Our love story began in the midst of the pandemic (September 2020) after we started chatting on a dating app and decided to meet up in person at a local brewery called Land Grant. We sipped IPAs and talked for three+ hours about our shared passions for trying new restaurants, hiking, and traveling. Josh remembers thinking, "This girl seems great, but why does she keep talking about her dog so much?" Josh never had a pet growing up and definitely wasn't a dog person but that quickly changed after meeting Cait's rambunctious black lab – Chip. About one month later, Cait met Josh's parents (Tony and Janice) at Gemüt Biergarten, the last stop of their bike-n-brew crawl. Cait connected with them right away and by the end of the night, Janice had already invited her up to Cleveland for "Fall Family Fun Day.” A couple weeks later, at Fall Family Fun Day, Cait started off the weekend strong by smoking Josh's youngest brother Jake in Top Golf and ordering grilled cheese with a side of carrots off the kid's menu (if you know Cait well, you know how much she loves grilled cheese). Later in the evening we attended a clam bake at the R-Lounge (a.k.a. Aunt Linda and Uncle Ray's patio), where Cait quickly bonded with the whole family and fit right in. It seemed like she had known everyone for years and after that trip, Josh had a feeling she could be the one. Over the next year and half, that feeling only grew stronger and in May 2022, Josh decided he was going to propose. He owed Cait a day of hiking after cancelling their plans weeks earlier to go golfing and thought Cedar Falls in Hocking Hills would be the perfect location to pop the question. He was also clever enough to bring along his new tri-pod to capture the moment, and likes to think Cait didn't suspect a thing. As fate would have it, our wedding venue happens to be just down the street from Land Grant – the location of our first date. We are extremely excited and look forward to celebrating our special day with you!
