We met back around 2004 when we became friends thorough a mutual group. Eventually I went off to college out of state and while we focused on our education we still remained great friends! Through the years a group of us rented a house, made a ton of memories, added children to our circle and had more potlucks then we can count!
We went on what I thought was just a fun winter holiday get away to Winthrop, WA where we rented a beautiful cabin on the river. It had a hot tub, a view to die for, snow covered hills and every cozy vibe imaginable. We scheduled a sleigh ride at Sun Mountain Lodge the next day because why you ask? I of course want to pack as much holiday spirit into one extended weekend as I can! We get to the lodge, load up and head out. Half way through during the rest stop I strike up a conversation with a gentleman who had his camera and as it turns out THIS man, this friend of Ryans I had never met, had been hired by Ryan to secretly photograph the exact moment the proposal happens. With mountains of winter snow as far as the eye can see, this old friend of Ryan's casually occupied himself with the horses until he got down on one knee and the rest was a blur! We finished our sleigh ride and went back to the cabin with my now new friend, Nate the Photographer, and made dinner plans. Surprise number 2- our friends had secretly came up as well and surprised us as the restaurant! We celebrated that milestone with them and now we want to celebrate this one with you all! See you in June!
Our next step after celebrating with you all is a new house. Not just any house but our FOREVER house! I have been blessed to have had an incredible upbringing in a space that allowed me to thrive as a child and speaking of children- Ryan has to WONDERFUL daughters that I am absolutely obsessed with. So while our primary goal for the past year or so has been to plan this event to celebrate with out loved ones, our long term goal is to combine it all and create a space for his girls and our future kids that provide them the same opportunities him and I both had growing up. Maddie and Mallory have been very invested in our wedding planning experience and you can bet you'll be seeing them in all of their glory on the big day! Gifts are not necessary and your presence is a blessing all in its own- however if you are feeling generous you'll be able to find your contributions in our next dream in some way shape or form!
