It's amazing when you meet someone for the first time and you expect nothing of it, then suddenly you become the luckiest girl in the world from that single encounter. I knew I met someone special during our very first conversation as strangers. Since then, I loved how he made sure not to rush anything about our connection. He is perfectly genuine, exceedingly generous, my future and my forever. I don’t have to try to be happy, because when I’m with him it just happens.
The most fascinating thing to me about our story is the timing. Let’s rewind the clock a little. In September 2018, a recruiter contacted me concerning employment overseas. Within two weeks, the company had me on a flight to Iraq. The second day of my induction, I met Shelita who had been there just 60 days before me. You cannot possibly understand how incredulous this moment was. Being around her laughing, talking, joking and just generally, being myself, I realized how comfortable I was. It was natural and effortless. The amount of admiration, respect, trust and love I have for her is unquantifiable. You can have the world and I will take her. Because to me she is the world.
