We met the first week of college at the sand volleyball courts at SAGU. I was a freshman in college and Sean was a transfer from Navarro college. His friend/roommate convinced him to get out of the dorm room to play some volleyball. At the time, I was dating a guy who had also decided to go play some volleyball that night. As we were playing, Sean was messing with me, little did I know he was flirting. When classes began, we realized that we had a class at the same time but different rooms. So we would sit together in the hall and talked while we waited for our classes to start. One day, Sean saw that I had been crying because my boyfriend at the time had broken up with me. We exchanged numbers so we could talk more about it. I wasn't looking for anything more than a friendship due to my recent heartbreak so, when Sean texted me I'd send short answer responses because I didn't want to lead him on. Regardless of how short I was being, Sean was determined and refused to give up. One day, he invited me to go to Dallas to hang out with him and a couple of his friends. I had nothing else going on that day and thought 'why not?', and decided to go. We ended up getting pushed into his car and rode up to Dallas alone in his car while six people piled into his friend's car. I didn't want things to be awkward so I turned the radio up and jammed to some Taylor Swift on the way up. We ended up having a great time in Dallas. On the way back to school, Sean worked up the courage to grab my hand. I didn't know what to do so I froze. When we got back, I thanked him for inviting me and headed up to my room. I then texted him and told him that I just wanted to be friends. I felt terrible and I could not sleep that night. The next day, Sean had remembered a conversation that we had about the fact that I had never been to Waffle House so, he had told me that a few buddies of his were going and wanted to know if I was interested in tagging along. If you don't know me, food is my love language so naturally, my response was yes. As we pulled up, I realized that no one else was there. It was just the two of us (Very smooth Cofer). During that breakfast, I got to know him a bit deeper. I learned more about his passions, his family, what he values and his beliefs. I found out that we had a lot more in common than I thought. I believe it was that moment when I realized that I wanted something more with him, because he had the most amazing heart. That night, we hung out again and I don't know what it was but something in me wanted me to kiss him. So, I did. After, Sean asked if we were together now, but as scared as I was to give my heart away again, I said yes and I couldn't be any happier. That day was the second best 'yes' of my life.
