How We Met

Ramapo High School

Gabrielle and Sean were a part of the same amazing friend group at Ramapo High School. Senior year, Sean had “randomly” picked Gabrielle for Secret Santa. Although it was still early on, it was clear that Sean knew Gabrielle well, designing her a t-shirt that captured Gabrielle’s high school, “Diva Jib” era. Little did they know that this would be the first of many thoughtful gifts. Like any true high school love story, their relationship started in a basement at an ugly sweater Christmas party. They saw it coming and knew it was something special but did not realize it would become their anniversary date for the next eleven years. They attended Senior Prom together and spent much of the Summer of 2013 together before heading off to the University of Delaware and The College of New Jersey. Despite the long-distance, Gabrielle and Sean fully enjoyed each of their college experiences to their fullest while fully supporting one another from afar. They enjoyed their visits and their love and care for one another only grew stronger. Over the course of 11 years, their families have bonded to support them and made lasting memories. Together they have also built meaningful friendships that have enriched their lives with memorable experiences and adventures. Sean and Gabrielle's bond has continued to grow as they share a love for the outdoors, traveling and exploring new places, sweets (especially cookies), and enjoying the views and each other's company at breweries and wineries. They cannot wait to celebrate their love with everyone and for their next and greatest adventure yet!

The Proposal

4/9/22

At the peak of Mohonk Mountain, Sean asked Gabrielle to marry him. Rain, Flooding, and road closures did not stop Sean from the perfect proposal. Gabrielle, hood up in the rain, followed Sean sprinting up the mountain. As they took in the view at the top of the mountain, Sean remarked on the many adventures they had been on together and asked Gabrielle to take this next adventure with him. The day was followed by thoughtful surprises and celebrations with close family and friends. After the hike, Sean brought Gabrielle to their favorite brewery, Drowned Lands, where they were met with excitement and love from their families. Later that day, Sean with the help of close families and friends, threw a surprise engagement party at their favorite restaurant in Morristown, The Stirling Tavern. The night ended, as does any great night, with singing and dancing at Laundry Mat followed by late night food with their best friends’ Kelsey and Scott. The next day, Gabrielle and Sean flew to Florida to spend time with and surprise Gabrielle's grandparents with the exciting news. To this day, both Gabrielle and Sean say it was the best day of their lives thus far.
