The best Italian in St Andrews (and arguably anywhere else!) with an extremely cozy atmosphere. Their lasagna is out of this world. Little Italy was Sean and Erin’s ‘go to’ fancy date spot when they were in St. Andrews and they return at any chance they get. They also ate there in July 2019 after Sean proposed to Erin on West Sands Beach. Booking ahead highly recommended.
A charming restaurant for lunch and dinner that serves up locally sourced Scottish produce. They also host Ceilidh nights (traditional Scottish dancing!) Friday and Saturday nights from 10pm.
A great spot for, lunch or afternoon tea (with sweet treats!) —they work with local suppliers to provide delicious gourmet cheeses, artisan breads and cakes and craft spirits. They have a deli, where you can grab something to take away, as well as a sit-down restaurant that serves food all day, including dinner.
A great spot for lunch, particularly known for their coffees, smoothies, brunches and delicious cupcakes
Delicious Thai Food
Where we went for our first date! Vegan friendly noodle bar. Not much sitting room inside, best for take-away.
Excellent fish and chips shop. A must-do for a trip to Scotland.
Amazing ice cream. When it's dry out, grab a cup or cone and head for a walk to the pier, the beach, or to see the cathedral ruins. Highly recommend!
A particular favorite of Sean's. Great burgers, hot dogs, salads and shakes.
The remains of what was once the largest church in Scotland. The cathedral museum has a rich collection of medieval sculptures and relics. St Rule’s Tower (which you can climb) dates from the 12th century. Lovely views over St Andrews and Fife.
Situated alongside the cliffs of the North Sea, the aquarium boast stunning views as well as all sort of sea-life.
One of the most famous golf courses in the world (and one of several acclaimed courses in St. Andrews). Guided tours typically available. Or of course if you are so inclined, try your hand at a few rounds of golf!
This museum tells the history of the town from the medieval period to current times. Situated in a Victorian mansion in Kinburn Park.
Explore the beaches! East and West Sands are both beautiful places to walk, run, picnic, or just enjoy the day. Sean proposed to Erin on West Sands, and it is a very special place for them
Partial ruins with over 450 years of history. Over time it has been a bishop’s palace, a fortress, and a state prison as well as the main residence of the bishops and archbishops of St Andrews.
