Our story began in the great state of Texas at Fort Sam Houston. I had just finished Navy Boot Camp and was shipped off to San Antonio, Texas for Accession training or A School. Here I would receive technical training in my selected field, Hospital Corpsman. I was young and excited to begin the next chapter of my life. Sean also came to Fort Sam Houston from Pensacola, Florida where he was in training to be a Navy Rescue Swimmer. While in the intense training, Sean had gotten an ankle injury. The school house had to let Sean go due to the injury. Being a Rescue Swimmer was Sean ambition, when the option for Hospital Corpsman became available he couldn't have been happier. Classes began and as time flew new friendships were formed, including my very best of friends Emily (aka maid of honor). Sean and I had mutual friends and would occasionally talk in school... most of the time it was when Sean would ask me if he could cheat off my test. Sean and I were polar opposites at first thought...he was fairly outgoing while I was more reserved and quiet. Sean loved to point out how I didn't say much... I only spoke when I felt my opinion needed to be shared. School was stressful as expected and the greatest escape for any young crowd was to meet up with those that had cars and have a few "cold ones" or make a quick break away to get fast food. San Antonio had some of the best tacos! I remember vividly one winter day. San Antonio had a once in a life time winter storm that caused classes to be canceled for the entire week. Sean and I wanted tacos and drive thru margaritas. I am prone to accidents and on the way out, I wiped out on the ice. At first, Sean just stared at me and then started to laugh. I couldn't help but crack a smile and laugh at myself as well. We then began to hang out almost every day, mostly him talking about various things and me encouraging him to study harder. It was during this time that Sean and I got to know each other. We both discovered our shared love of our Catholic faith and our immense loyalty to our family. Our journey started as any friendship does, with a connection born of shared interests, attitudes, and beliefs but had the potential for so much more. Our time in Texas came to an end, with Sean taking orders in San Diego, California. I remained in San Antonia to further my studies as a Pharmacy Tech in C School. We stayed in touch during the months after Sean left. I secretly hoped that when orders came in for myself there might be an option close to California. I believe to this day that God had a plan for Sean and I. After I completed C School, I chose orders at Naval Air Station Lemoore, near Fresno California. This was about 6 hours from San Diego. I guess at this time, I had intrinsically chosen my own path without really thinking about it. I had found a connection with Sean that I wasn't about to let go of and distance would not sway me. About every two weeks, one of us would drive to see each other Sean proposed to me on June 11th 2022 , we soon got married in the court house in San Diego California on June 17th 2022 to be closer together and to get orders to be at the same base. We welcomed Leo Michael Brady to our little family in 2023. Our story is short and simple, one based on love, faith, and a desire to be together.
