Friends, Avrie and I just received word this morning from the wedding venue that LA county’s new COVID regulations would in fact restrict many moments that were planned for our big day. Throughout the pandemic, we monitored the restrictions closely, planned around many rules, but these new orders make it tough to maintain safety for our loved ones, and have a day somewhat similar to the original plan. After a lot of thought, Avrie and I decided we want to postpone the wedding until a time when all of our loved ones can attend in a safe and fun manner (especially on the dance floor). We are terribly sorry for the news this close to the wedding date; the new LA county regulations were not put into place until late last night. For those that planned to travel from out of state, take time off work, reserve somewhere to stay, we are truly sorry and we will contact you privately to try to help sort those plans out. We appreciate everyone that has been along for this journey, but for now, the journey must continue! We hope to see you down the road in 2021 for the biggest post-pandemic party in history. -Lots of Love, Sean and Aves
Sean saw Avrie for the first time from across the lunch tables at Valencia high school. It was their sophomore year, Sean was 15 and Avrie 16. When he saw her, she was being cute and laughing with her friends. He didn't recognize her, but knew he wanted to know her. He asked Avrie's friend to introduce him to her, and she said "okay, but she won't be interested." The first time they met, Avrie was silent and more than a little awkward. For some reason though, Sean couldn't stay away. He rode his bike to her house (5 miles each way) every day for the first two weeks of knowing her. Avrie wasn't expecting to like him as much as she did, and was surprised at how quickly he won her over. He asked her to be his girlfriend on May 20, 2012, and they have been learning how to love and serve each other well ever since.
Avrie is the best part about me. She knows how to read my sensitive and most times silent feelings. She teaches me to be proud of myself while maintaining a sincere humbleness. She inspires me with her faith and her beautiful outlook on life. She knows how to cool off my anxiety by showing her sincerity and wanting to understand me. She knows almost every word to Sugarhill Gang's 'Rapper's Delight.' She is my role model and I want to keep learning from her forever.
Sean makes me brave and reminds me not to take myself too seriously. He encourages me to be kind. He loves me even when I am not being my best. He gets me out of bad moods by being a goof and making me raise my hands in the air and say "woohoo" until I can't stop smiling. He cares about and loves his friends deeply. He reminds me to appreciate beautiful things and to think creatively. He encourages me to make responsible and wise decisions. Sean is the only person who can make me angry and get me laughing all within a few minutes. He's got the best dance moves I've ever seen. He is my best friend, and I wholeheartedly choose to love him forever.
