On my 39th birthday I was freshly out on my own, living in my newly purchased, woman hear me roar freedom house and my mom decided I needed a protector... so she bought me a dog. Enter Grizz, the last pick of the litter, dopey lab with chocolate fur, staples in his head, and a heart of gold. So I have this new dog and I need to have the staples removed and have his first puppy visit so naturally I call the local Seaside Vet office-the best clinic in Clatsop County... The appointment is set and I take Grizz to the vet. Grizz and I were put in a room and waited for the doctor to come in... and when the door opened the Zings flew. We chatted, he removed the staples, there was some flirting and then we left and the stage was set. I went home and sent said doctor a friend request on Facebook... Fast forward four months I headed to my sister's wedding for the weekend and left Grizz with a friend. My friend called me while I was at the wedding and said Grizz was acting like he didn't feel very well. I rushed home and Grizz was really sick. Swollen face, very lethargic and super thin and sick looking. I rushed him to the vet. I was so worried, Grizz was so sick and the Dr. (who had IGNORED my friend request) wasn't sure if Grizz would make it. The doctor suspected Salmon poisoning and said that "Things don't look good." After a day of treatments Dr. Gladney called me to say that things were looking up. We weren't out of the woods yet but I could take him home, on the condition that I bring him back in the morning for more treatment. The next afternoon Dr. Gladney told me that the treatments were working but he would need to see me again tomorrow... meanwhile Grizz is starting to look quite healthy and it became apparent that said Dr. just wanted to see me more...after a week of treatments Grizz was well on his way to being healthy and Dr. Gladney checked his Facebook and accepted my friend request just as he noticed the 17 weeks. And so our story begins.
