Sean had originally planned to propose on the top of Pleasant Mountain in Bridgton. The side of the mountain has ski trails that spell out "Love", what could be more romantic? He then decided we would hike to the top and then he would pop the question overlooking the lakes region. We headed out for a weekend hike on an unseasonably warm day in November, but recent hurricanes resulted in a mess of a hike. The trail was mostly washed out and the top of the mountain was frigid. Then Serena fell on her way down. Not a romantic setting at all! Sean then proposed a few days later on a Friday night at home while we made our favorite dinner of farm-fresh ribeyes and had a glass of wine. Perfectly low-key and romantic. A ruined proposal turned into a perfect story.
