How We Met

7.06.21

Scott and Bobbi met the modern way: on a dating website. Bobbi was swooned by Scott's bathroom selfie (she will deny this, but don't believe her)! Scott was attracted to Bobbi's outdoor adventures. Both of us were comforted that God was at both of our centers. Our first date was at Memorial Park in Wilsonville, sitting on a bench beside the Willamette River. We talked for several hours, and the time felt comfortable and peaceful for both of us. Over the following several dates, Scott passed every dealbreaker level, even if he did not know it then. For the next two years, Scott and Bobbi created many memories: from cooking and dating challenges (everyone should try it-it's super fun), hiking all over Washington and Oregon, and nightly devotionals over the phone. Our relationship had challenges during tragedies beyond our control, but these moments of love and support we had for each other strengthened our redemption story. We can't wait to celebrate with you at our wedding ceremony in May 2024.

The Proposal

7.09.23

On July 9th, 2023, Scott and Bobbi took a beautiful hike to Walupt Creek Falls in Washington. After rappelling down a cliff, we reached the river to see the most spectacular waterfall we had been to yet. After eating lunch, Scott gave Bobbi a box containing a necklace. Inside the box, it said, "To my amazing future WIFE. Never forget I love you. You are my dream come true, my better half, my world, my best friend, the love of my life, forever and always my one true love. I LOVE YOU FOREVER AND ALWAYS." Scott then asked Bobbi to marry him. Bobbi said yes! This was good because it would have been an awkward hike back to the minivan. Bobbi did not know that when we got back to her place, all of our children and Scott's dad and grandchild were there to celebrate the proposal! The following week, Scott and Bobbi went ring shopping, so they could each pick out their wedding bands. Scott gained serious street cred from many ladies because they all thought it was a genius move to have Bobbi pick out her wedding ring. We're excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you!
