Just north of San Diego, you can find Pacific Beach where restaurants, bars, and surfing can be found steps away from the boardwalk.
Great area for walking or biking right on the beach. Great place to paddle board and rent a boat.
Given San Diego is a big military town, you can visit the USS Midway Museum. Near the museum is also the famous "The Kissing Statue" and the National Salute to Bob Hope.
A great place to go for a morning walk along the water where you can find a village of shops to stop at. If you are looking for a delicious breakfast, stop at Spill The Beans for a great latte and bagel!
The Gaslamp Quarter's 16 blocks are peppered with Victorian-style buildings that now house a variety of shops, art galleries, theaters and trendy restaurants, not to mention plenty of bars and clubs. If you want to try some of the best tacos in San Diego, go to La Puerta (they also have the best margarita in the United States).
Little Italy is a neighborhood teeming with restaurants, cafes, art galleries, craft beer taprooms, and boutiques. Too many recommendations for food because it's all amazing but my top is Nonna.
Balboa Park is a cultural oasis that includes 17 museums, gardens galore, and the world-famous San Diego Zoo. At 1,200 acres, Balboa Park is one of North America’s most iconic urban parks and a must-see on any visit to San Diego.
If there is a Padres game, this is the place to go! They also have a beer garden outside the stadium that looks into the middle of the field!
One of my personal favorite places in the United States, is Coronado Beach! I would suggest taking an Uber/Lyft there. You can also take the Ferry from Downtown San Diego but the walk from the Ferry to the other side of the island can take around 30 minutes. If you do go to Coronado Beach, check out the famous Hotel Del Coronado and down the road Coronado Dog Beach (Teddy's favorite beach).
