How We Met

Love at First Rum Beer Float

We met for the first time on June 28, 2014 (A date that has been debated several times), at our friend, Jamie's house party. We both had recently moved to (Josh) and moved back to (Alex) St. Louis. We both ended up at the party for very different reasons and with different groups of people. Josh was wearing torn khaki cargo shorts, a black v-neck, black air Jordan's, and a backwards KC hat, where his hair was long enough to curl under the brim of his hat. I saw him in the kitchen and thought to myself "He's pretty cute!"--so I went up and said something about Kansas City. Our mutual friend Amanda saw us and introduced us to each other. After that there was some beer pong distraction and I left super early due to being a workaholic at the time. Fast forward a few weeks, same house, same party group, and Josh had the courage to ask for my phone number, after he thought he was smooth and convinced me to drink this “Rum Beer Float”, it was awful. The rest is fate and we have been inseparable since.

The Proposal

August 13, 2017

Josh had planned a romantic and relaxing weekend getaway for our three year anniversary. We went to Cobbden,IL and stayed at a lovely air bnb, where the wonderful hostess made us a fantastic breakfast and both her and her husband were delightful company. Saturday late morning we went to the winery to have lunch. In the afternoon, Josh took me to the Little Grand Canyon to go hiking. It was quite more than expected as far as hiking goes and I was scared of seeing a snake which made me tell Josh I wanted to turn around. He convinced me to make it to the waterfall with him, which we did. There, Josh started filming us which he told me it was to take a picture. Instead of a picture he was basically telling me that I was his world and got down on one knee to ask me to be his wife!
