It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon, August 1, 2020, to be exact. The scene was set, a Nicolas Schriener’s 21st birthday party… Both Jacob and Megan were looking forward to the day, but for different reasons. Megan had her eyes set on making sure the party went off without a hitch, Jacob, however, had his eyes set on Nick’s hot sister, Megan. After a game or two of cornhole and Jacob blissfully letting Megan win, the sparks began to fly. It was not until later that evening that Jacob’s flirting efforts really began to swoon Megan. As they gazed into each other’s eyes, that warm Saturday evening as the sun set on the lake, they both knew they had something real. For Megan, it was a crush on someone her brother’s age and for Jacob, it was a crush on someone that could have babysat him when he was a child. Because who doesn’t fall in love at your brother’s 21st birthday party??? As morning rolled around, these two lovers went their separate ways and longed for the day they would meet again. It wasn’t until the following weekend when both Jacob and Megan “coincidently” ran into each other at a Sawyer Brown concert. After swing dancing to “The Race is On”, they both realized This Night Won’t Last Forever. A little charm and a lot of liquid courage landed Jacob and Megan their first kiss that night. Like any young gentleman that falls for one of his friend’s older sisters, Jacob deemed it necessary to get Nick’s stamp of approval before seeing his sister anymore. After a much-dreaded conversation asking if Jacob can take Nick’s sister on a date, Nick responded like any protective brother would “Yeah, sure I don’t care”. The rest is basically history, so I won’t bore you anymore with our over-exaggerated love story but I will tell you about the best day of both of our lives (so far). Many sunsets over the water later, on a beach in Mexico, a very nauseous Jacob awaited asking the most gorgeous girl he had ever met to marry him. You could see the frustration in Megan’s eyes. Why was Jacob acting so strange? He knew we were taking family photos. It wasn’t until Jacob got down on one knee, that it clicked for Megan what was really happening. Turns out that what happens down in Mexico, does not stay in Mexico. We could not be more excited to celebrate with every one of you and want each and every one of you to know how much you mean to us. – the future Mr & Mrs Blessum
